How We Review HR Software

Every tool on HRSoftwarePick is evaluated using the same 6-dimension scoring framework. Scores are not influenced by advertising relationships or vendor payments.

Ease of Use20%

Onboarding time, UI clarity, learning curve, mobile app quality.

Payroll Quality20%

Tax filing automation, direct deposit speed, contractor support, error rates.

Features20%

Breadth of HR features: HRIS, benefits, time tracking, performance, onboarding.

Value for Money15%

Price relative to features offered. Transparent pricing is rewarded.

Integrations15%

Number and quality of third-party integrations. API availability.

Customer Support10%

Response times, support channels, quality of documentation.

Pricing Verification

We verify every pricing page directly and document the date of verification. If a vendor changes pricing, we update our review within 30 days. We note when pricing is not publicly available (e.g., BambooHR).

User Reviews

We analyze verified reviews from G2 and Capterra for every tool we cover. We look at total review count, rating distribution, and common complaints. We do not accept vendor-supplied review samples.

Testing

Where free trials are available (Gusto, BambooHR), we complete the trial and document the onboarding experience. For tools without public trials (Rippling, Deel), we use demo recordings, documentation, and user-reported experiences.
